ButterPaper is operated by Longhouse Ventures LLC. This explains what we collect, what we deliberately do not, and who else touches it.
Your site plans stay on your computer. ButterPaper runs in your browser. Project files save to a location you choose on your own device, and the surveys, plats and aerial images you load as backgrounds are never uploaded to us. We could not show you someone else's site plan if we wanted to, because we do not have it.
What we hold is an email address, a subscription status, and anything you deliberately send us in a feedback report.

The attachment is geometry only. Background images and any pictures you have placed are stripped out before it is sent, deliberately, so that reporting a bug never discloses the survey for a deal you are working on. Attaching is optional and there is a checkbox.
We use these providers to run the service. Each holds only what its job requires.

Depending on where you live you may have additional rights, including under the California Consumer Privacy Act or the UK and EU GDPR. We do not sell personal information as those laws define it.
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Sign-in uses a single-use emailed link rather than a password, so there is no password of yours for us to store or lose. Account data is protected by database rules that only permit you to read your own record. No system is perfectly secure, and we make no absolute guarantee.
ButterPaper is a professional tool and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
If we change this policy materially — particularly if we begin storing project files on our servers, which would change the first section substantially — we will notify account holders by email before it takes effect.
